You can only if it is a secondary attack. IE if you go for a throw and miss without disengaging your uki you can grab the leg for a takedown. That is until the IJF rule change goes into effect on 1 march. Then legs are all together outlawed.

i thought that in judo after you throw the guy u had to strangle them or get them in a arm bar.

It should not be an Ippon if you don't have full control of the opponent after the throw.Leg grabs should be allowed and more time on groundwork.No wonder more people are turning to BJJ.
