Elite Judo players can simply adapt to a new mindset, if the rules required them to continue into a controlled position on the ground after a throw. These are world class athletes, who have had to change the way they do Judo from every time the IJF changed the rules, and made restrictions.

Look at the IBJJF World Campionships. The medal winning matches don't just have clean subs, or are decided by points advantage. Same with Judo. The top guys here are so good you can't just throw them "perfect". A lot of the time it takes putting someone on your back and then trying to put your back on the ground to throw someone for any point at all. Also you have almost zero control of the other person while being thrown, while the thrower (usually) has very good control of the person.

You should check your informations. Basiclly, ju jutsu is japananese and means fexibility technic. If you want more informations about ju jutsu and judô you can see a good movie called sugata sanshiro by Akira Kurosawa.

If you train it enough, you can do it. This applies for almost anything.

It takes control to finish the throw. The thrower has very good control of the persons arm(s) and shoulders, leaving like 10% chance of ground work with like a 2% chance of finish. If someone attacks me and they don't have control they most likely wont even throw me. In local tournaments however the level of skill is much less and a lot of competitors do unnecessarily give up their back, which I capitalize on with the bow 'n arrow choke, or rolling choke in judo.

Actually Kano took the name for Jikishin Ryu Judo and more correctly Judo that is widely practiced today should correctly be called Kodokan Judo...

guys i dont get this... thay get points for throwing the other person and giving there back at the same time... wtf is this? shouldt there be a sesific degree of perfection like throwng some one down and then have full control over the person you threw?

i got nothing against judo, but what's the point of throwing someone and giving your back to your opponent at 9:59? :S

Judo (to me) looks a little sloppy how they don't finish with a pin and just roll over and lose position. Too sporty for me. Should be more of a fight.
@theredstorm11 жыл бұрын
bullshit, actually the samuraïs were usin ju jutsu (not jiu jitsu, it's the english translation) and judo appears on the 19th century, created by Jigoro Kano.

Rich little aristocrats competing for the gold...wow, big deal. Illegal leg grab at 12:20? Judo just keeps getting more sissy with each passing year. But, that's what happens when a bunch of spoiled rich kids run the show. The real men, who work for a living, are not impressed. They wouldn't last 30 seconds with a real man, but then this is why it's a private club.
