So honest question that I have been trying to figure out but I have yet to find a solid answer. Which martial art is best for self defense, Judo or Aikido?

Easily judo. Aikido suffers from being to much of an art instead of a sport. See footage of aikido competitions. For actual selfdefence tho I would suggest a sport where kicking and punching is allowed. Since these are most common in streetfights and brawls. I guess it depends on what clubs are near you. Good options would be mma, krav maga, taekwando,... I dont believe you want to grapple in a selfdefence situation, it would be better to knock the opponent out instead so you can flee. Tldr: between aikido and judo, pick judo. For selfdefence mma or similar.

Bones are hard to break. In jujitsu they break joints. Well pretend to. You have to be really careful not to. That's what I do.

Combat sport. Like boxing, wrestling, kickboxing, and mma. Expect injuries that would be severe

I know. Im amazed there aren't more injuries. It's a chance you take I suppose. Apart from bruises. My worst injury was a broken rib and a slightly crushed throat.

In Judo you win if you take the opponent down on their back or side. In wrestling, you keep wresting until you pin the opponent.

Is judo any good as a mma type of martial arts?See different styles of martial arts in different effective categories, like for mma,kick boxing,karate, any quick and fast ground fighting, mixed with fast knock types styles,yhan you have your chi,spiritual types for, smooth , soft relaxing moments ,along with kungfoo foo but,they all are deadly.They are all different tools for different situations.You just need to know what effective groups of styles on for ,that would be more effective than the other.
