A true legend. He was definitely my judo hero when i was a kid. Before trainings i used to watched with my friends the video lessons of Koga, to inspire us. Now I'm 31 and still training judo, and still a fan of Koga. Thank you for inspiring me. R.I.P.

When I saw "Koga the best" on KZbin, my appreciation for judo had grown more. Judo is a world, Judo is a big family. My life is judo now. I want to give consolation to the Koga family. A great master has left this world.

He was an incredible athlete, judoka, and a huge inspiration to the younger generation. We would watch his DVDs on repeat, and all my life I've wanted to master the shoulder throw the way he did. I couldn't believe the news; he was so young.

When I first started judo, I fell in love with the sport quickly. My father was my inspiration and my motivation for this sport. After school I would go home and look up judo on the internet and I watched many different judokas and their style of judo, but I’ve always was a big fan of Japanese judo and their beautiful throws. One day I came across Koga sensei and he immediately became my hero for this sport. Everyday I would pick up my big teddy bear at home and try kogas techniques and his techniques, especially seoi nage bacame my strongest technique. The most competitions I won with those techniques and they made me love the sport even more. If there wouldn’t be Koga I wouldn’t be the way I am today. Thank you for everything.❤️

Such a loss. Too young to die at 53, now all we have is playing his videos again and again. Our condolences on your loss. Here are some comforting verses from the Bible. "And God (Jesus) will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." Revelation 21:4 "The Lord (Jesus) is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Psalm 34:18
