Judo has grown exponentially here over the past decade and now for the last 5 years the country has hosted a Grand prix event on the IJF world judo tour.
This year's installment was a return to business after a fantastic World championships in Budapest last month.
The stars of today are an inspiration for those of tomorrow and in Zagreb young Croatian judo fans had a chance to see some of Judo's biggest names in action, but also had the opportunity to train withFormer Olympic champion Mark Huizinga and Triple World Champion Ilias Iliadis.
And Iliadis was on hand to warm up none other than Teddy Riner, judo's biggest name whom we'll see in action.
Before the Grand Prix got under way there was a special message from the President of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic.
