+InaZumadrawer hi he said he was a boxer. I thought well most boxers would not diss another art or even better go try judo either get some tachi waza /then we'll do some ne waza ground work then we'll see what your answer is.

+Judo Im a BJJ practitioner. But I still have a reverence and much respect for Judo. We see it as a parent art and ours as a continuation of it in a different direction. Much respect. :-)

No, disagree if we talk about the grappling techniques. Western wrestling is not related to judo, and it is more ancient. Catch wrestling didn't develop from Judo (even if some of the greatest pro-wrestlers of recent times were judokas).

I love the judo videos, however the sound mixing could have been better for this editon, because either the sound of the music or the crowd was overpowering the commentator.

Judo is almost desame to jiu jutsu, but in judo it's breaking bones :o Ouch.

I wish throw points counted towards winning the round and only a submission or decision won the match. If they made that change and allowed more time to grapple, Judo would surpass BJJ.

Not really. Everything in BJJ came from Kosen Judo. Judo used to focus much more on ground techniques until the Olympics shortened the time allowed on the ground. They didn't think it was as entertaining. Now the training in Judo is not as complete as it once was, but it would be easy to fix. If the competitions were to incorporate a reason to be effective at throws and ground fighting it would surpass BJJ. BJJ is all about pulling guard.

this is great. but then, so is the Steve Lav channel. For plumbing , HVAC, and all around fun. It's fun to trip, but then , so is a tripped system to fix.
