Those Highlights shows are a step in the right direction, but to really catch the audience, they should orientate on fighting tournaments in movies! Why do ppl enjoy watching them? Because you bonded with at least 1 fighter and see his way to the top. And there is mostly only 1 category, 1 great final and 1 winner. So best would be a highlight show of that length for each category on it's own, where all the important fighters are shown from round one. In the beginning a small introduction to bond with them (like scenes from interviews and previous tournaments, achievements..- like they did with Riner) So ppl already know who is badass or a promissing underdog, and can pick a favourite and cheer with them. Than the fights get much more exciting. Of course the fights should be shortend (only good scenes) and only fights of judoka who become important in later tournament. If the gap between prelims and finals is big enough and better devided into weight categories, you could show sth like this directly before the finals: Example: - in the Morning Preliminaries (not many ppl want/can watch it) - 16.30 half hour of movie-like highlight show of prelims -60 kg without spoilers in beginning and focusing on important fighters -17.00 Final LIVE only 60 kg 17.30 same for next category Even ppl who have no idea about judo would love to see this, and the fans would increase tremendously

Judo is cool cuz you can flip someone and send them flying.
