Welcome to Osaka, the second largest city of Judo's spiritual home Japan.
Whilst Tokyo undergoes preparations for the Olympic games in 2020, this city steps in to host the annual Japanese Grand Slam, the penultimate event on the 2018 World Judo Tour.
Its a huge tournament, one with a rich history and one which ALL judoka dream of winning. But to do so they have to get past a Japanese team FULL of superstars which is ALWAYS dominant on home soil and boasted some truly phenomenal talent.
In this program we'll delve deeper into the role of Judo in Japan.
And we'll follow the international athletes vying to break the Japanese strangle hold here in Osaka, including one who was looking to derail the comeback of former World Champion Wolf Aaron at under 100 kilograms.
