@@Anhdatrang91 facts. I did Judo when I was a kid and then wrestled in HS and then got into BJJ and MMA when I started college. I’m doing Judo again these days but wish I would’ve stuck with it way earlier. I always have a hard time in randori but when I compete in BJJ throwing BJJ guys and MMA guys is stupidly easy, damn near even comical. Nothing like trying to throw a fellow Judoka.

It’s difficult when your own American major leagues plus individual sports like tennis and golf are so dominant in terms of TV advertising and athletes’ sponsorship. You’ve also got such ridiculous distances to travel for national or even regional competitions. Then there’s the scramble for participants with the currently more fashionable BJJ and MMA which have also taken their toll on club judo over here. Despite all this, you’ve consistently produced Olympic medalists like Jimmy Pedro, Rhonda Rousey and Kayla Harrison. 🙏🏿🇬🇧

Not so keen on the arms outstretched standing over defeated opponent business. Looks disrespectful and not in the spirit of our sport. Note the Japanese don’t do it.

Its a piss take in each others face, then they have to mask up when the medals are giving out. Common sense has flown out of the window in all sports in general. lol
