Hello, can someone explain to me why is there no -60kgs category (men) in the judo team world championships please ?

Hi, usually the weight categories for men international championships start with -55 and the next category will be -61 both senior and youth. If the player weighs in at exactly 60kg he will participate in -55 category. The same applies to teams aswel, so there will be a -55 kg team and -61 kg team etc. Hope I answered your question?

I'm sorry, either it doesn't answer my question or i didn't understand. What I meant is, for example when Japan men team is against another country's men team (ex: japan vs uzbekistan ), we don't see judokas under 60kgs (we don't see takato naohisa or ryuju nagayama for example although we see maruyama or abe (-66 kgs) (or ebinuma few years ago when he was under 66 kgs) ). Is it because judokas under 60kgs are not allowed to participate?

@@Sac1199 I apologize, I totally misunderstood your question at first. You have a very interesting point there. I will definitely find out because after you mentioned it I also can't recall seeing judoka under 60 kg participating in their team. The only thing I can think of is it might be a strategic decision of the team to let only those above 60 kg participate. I might be wrong though. I will definitely find out. I usually compete -81 internationally
